Go through your comments
Sometimes all you need to do is reread the comments on previous posts to generate some new ideas. Many times the comments will flip a creative switch and bring a new topic to mind or give you a different perspective to write about.
Keep an ongoing list of ideas
I have an Evernotes page dedicated solely to blog post ideas. Whenever I have an idea I jot it down so I won’t forget. You’d be surprised at the number of ideas you forgot you had when you look at the list.
Questions make great posts
I also make a list and take notes when questions clients ask me questions. The questions they ask are often the same questions other readers have, so expanding them into tutorials or posts will answer the question for many viewers.
Research the popular topics in your field
Find out what is new and trendy in your specialty and put your own spin on the topics. Don’t be afraid to be controversial, those ideas are often the best ones and lead to some interesting comments.
Read other blogs
Get inspired by reading what your competitors or favorite bloggers are writing about. There is nothing like reading something uplifting to get you in the creative mood. You never know what will spark an idea while you are reading other blogs.
