I hate the phone. I don’t like calling people. I’m really an email or text person. But, I do realize that not everything is about me and sometimes I need to accommodate the needs of other people and sometimes, other people like or need to talk on the phone.

I get it. I may not like it, but I get it.

But the one problem I found was that there was either a lot of calling/leaving messages or emailing back and forth to find a mutually agreeable time to talk on the phone. I waste a lot of time trying to find time for everything.

Not anymore. I discovered a program called Calendly and it has changed my professional life. No more emailing back and forth trying to find a time that works for all parties. No more calling and leaving messages trying to reach each other. Now you can look at my availability for calls right on my website and find a time that works for you. See how I use Calendly here.

Things you may want to know:

  • Calendly syncs with my Google calendar, so it knows when I’m busy. Of course, this also means you have to keep your Google calendar up to date. (My Google calendar rules my life, so no problem here.) It syncs with Outlook calendar as well I believe.
  • You can set what times of the day and what days of the week you want to accept calls. For example, I don’t want to do calls after 3PM or before 8:30, so those times are always blacked out.
  • I can set up a buffer for calls, so people can’t schedule appointments back to back. You  know, sometimes those calls just go over.
  • Because I don’t like last minute calls, I can set it to prevent appointments less than 8 hours away. So that prevents same day calls.
  • It sends confirmation and reminder emails, so everyone remembers the scheduled appointment!
  • I can link to my appointment page, or embed it in my website.

Calendly has a free version, which is actually what I use, but the premium version is only $8 a month, which is totally worth it. You may be asking – do I get paid for this review? NO! I just love it so much I wanted to share. It’s an easy and inexpensive way to set up and integrate appointment scheduling.
