SEO Services

More and more people are coming to us for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and there’s a reason why. We currently rank organically on page one in Google for 30 different web design related keyword phrases. Many of these even land us the #1 spot. Of course, we earned this by doing a lot of hard work and content writing, and I’ve written about that extensively on this blog.

But when people hire us for SEO, they often don’t know what to expect, because so much of it is behind the scenes. So here’s the run down of how it goes.

#1) We’ll ask you what keywords you want to be found for.

We do keyword research based on your website and your services, but we want to know what you think you should be found for. Then we’ll tell you whether those keywords are realistic or not. If you come to us and say you’d like to rank #1 in Google for the term “flower” then we’ll likely tell you NO.

Because unless you’ve bought the domain flower.com, you are’t going to rank for that term. It’s too generic and way too competitive. However, if you say you want to be found for “best florist in Tallahassee” – that’s a keyword phrase we can work with.

#2) We’ll do keyword research.

Keyword research is a major step in doing SEO, because we need to find out if anyone is searching for what you offer, and how to get your site in their search results. So we’ll research your company, your services, your area, and see what’s going on. Then we’ll recommend keyword phrases we think are both attainable and appropriate. Some might even surprise you.

#3) We’ll do the technical part of SEO.

It’s not all keywords and content, there’s a technical aspect too. Do you have an SSL certificate? You should. We’ll get it set up for you. Do you have an XML sitemap? Have you set up Google Analytics and Google Search Console? Have you submit your site to Bing? Do you have search engine friendly URLS? Is your site fast loading? We know what Google wants to see your website doing well.

#4) We’ll do on-page optimization.

We’ll plan which pages get optimized for which keywords. Then we’ll do things like write custom page titles and custom descriptions. We might tweak your content, change your page slug, or even add images we think will help. There are many parts to this process, and not every site will need every aspect, but we’ll fully customize it to your needs.

#5) We’ll talk to the search engines.

No, that doesn’t mean we’re going to call up Google, but it does mean we’re going to submit your site and XML sitemap to Google and Bing so they can start indexing it. We’ll claim your business listing, if applicable. If you are a locally based service business, we might also claim your Yelp or Houzz listing and update those as well. It all depends on your business and its needs, this is a personalized experience.

#6) We’ll give you recommendations on what you can do too.

I’ve written many times on all the work we put into our site to get where we are, and it wasn’t because we did a good job on our site and then left it alone. We worked at it, regularly. And we’ll tell you what you should be doing too.

One thing to remember is that organic SEO is not an overnight success. It takes time.

But what about all the Google guidelines for my website? Won’t you do those?

If we developed your website, then all that stuff is already done. It’s part of the package.
