The Best WordPress Plugins for Small Business Websites

by on Monday, February 17th, 2014

pluginWe do a lot of websites for individuals and small businesses. That’s kind of our niche. We work almost exclusively in WordPress these days, and one of the things we’ve really learned is when to use which plugins. So here are a few of my favorites that I use on almost every site.

Contact Form 7: Sure, there may be fancier forms out there. But this one really tops my list because it’s easy to use, and has lots of options for customization. There’s even an extra database plugin to keep track of all your contacts in your Dashboard.

Easing Slider: Everyone wants a slider these days, and the Easing Slider is a quick, easy way to make that happen. Just install, activate, and upload your photos.

Jetpack: I love Jetpack. Let me count the ways! Built in stats, easy contact forms, Sharing buttons, and more. It really adds a lot of punch to your website options and it’s really easy to set up.

Social Media Widget: Need a simple way to add in your social media icons to your sidebar? This will do it. Just activate, paste in your links, and go.

Benchmark Email has a new easy to use plugin called Benchmark Email Lite that combines your WordPress site with the traffic-generating benefits of email marketing. You can install an email sign-up form onto any page (it actually scans the colors of your page and adjusts itself so that it blends seamlessly into your theme), track down analytics, and even send email-friendly version of your blogs posts straight into your readers’ inboxes. And all straight off your WordPress dashboard.

Definitely a two-in-one program that will save your time, let you exercise your creative, and increase engagement with your followers :)
